A Timeless Death Metal Classic
By: tronous32
Date: 6 Sep 2011
Rating:
For this merely being Death's second album, it is amazing the extent of maturity they have gone through from Scream Bloody Gore. Of course, Death is still presenting us with a tasty plate of raw, crushing brilliance that was trademarked by their first album, but the songs are beginning to sound more structured. Chuck's vocals are much better, and the overall sound quality seems to be at an equilibrium between polished and raw. It is still, by all standards, fairly typical old-school death metal, but it is above par in comparison to many of the bands of that day and age. Brutal, fast, and top to bottom quality death metal.
