Let me start by saying this is one of the few bands i listen to that i dont judge based on drums. The way this band flows between brootal and clean vocals is smooth, and another one of the good things is how alot of the songs just have a literal beauty to them. You realizes this randomly in the songs as the album progresses.
This band has it all, brutal DM and nice melodic parts to it and even some doomy. I chose to review this album becuase it was my first and IMO their best. After my first time listening it shook me up, becuase of the satanic noises, starts and stops, hard and soft parts. Their songs are all over the place, and one of the more important Progressive DM bands on this station.
Their older albums are good but Akercocke at that time didnt polish their sound, as they went the really did get better. If you are more into constant thrasing of brutal vocals go along with their older albums. But if you have ADD and like change contsant thru each song listen to their new albums.
