Grotesque Impalement EP
By: matas
Date: 3 Mar 2012
Rating:
It is a good follow up to solidify their style after Killing on adrenaline but the production could have been better.
The song that gives the title to this album is how death metal should sound like, great headbanger riff, tempo changes at the right time, deep low gutural voice and gore attitude. If somebody were to ask me for an all-time song that would embody the band's sound and stamp, grotesque impalement would be my first choice. Both covers included make perfect sense for a death metal song and are executed nicely, specially in the drums where the sound is unique. Tearing inside the womb is raw, powerful and is one of my personal favorites. Hail Mighty North/Forest Trolls Of Satan (Anno Clitoris 666 Opus II) is as far as im willing to move away from death metal and is almost a glam joke that seems out of order with the rest of the EP.
