Winternight Tragedies

Catamenia’s 6th album, “Winternight Tragedies” continues on with their underappreciated style of mixing melody in with black metal to create yet another cold and catchy headbanger. Despite the band issues with various members coming and going around the time of recording, Catamenia have made another high quality, energetic album.

Catamenia have covered Satyricon’s “Fuel For Hatred” for this release; an odd choice to cover, and not most people’s first choice for a song to cover (“Fuel For Hatred” wouldn’t even be my first choice of Satyricon material to cover) but Catamenia certainly manage to do the original justice, while adding their own unique spin on the song.

Overall, “Winternight Tragedies” is a great release where the songs only get better as the album goes on.
