After their tragic bus crash that claimed the life of cherished drummer Vitek and left talented frontman Covan with extremely serious injuries, many Decapitated fans wondered whether the band would ever recover.
This album certainly proves that they are not only capable of doing so, but that they have absolutely no intentions of quitting anytime soon. This album definitely stands out to me as a testament of perseverance through tough times. The guitars are clean and audible, the drumming is immaculate, the bass is sharp and the vocals, although very, VERY different from Sauron and Covan's styles, are still pleasurable to the ear. The slow intros on Carnival is Forever and A View From a Hole are simply fantastic and lathered with anticipation for when the brutality kicks in. Mixed in with the fury of the songs The Knife, United and Pest, the combination makes for a very crushing album. Finally, the somber track entitled Silence at the very end as a tribute to their fallen brothers leaves the listener with a tear in his eye. A very well executed album.
