This thread is intended for all of the DFM members who will be playing GW2!

Server: Underwold EU
Guildname: Operation Splattershouse - OSH
Guildleader: Razark

Members:
  • Razark = Razark.3670
  • ARny = ARny.1485
  • Postmaster = ??

Today I saw the final world list have been released and since some have discussed the possibility to play together, I think now is the time to decide which world DFM is going to pick.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/introducing-the-worlds-of-guild-wars-2/

Fortunately the game was (but no longer is) region locked, which meant people from North America could only play on North American servers and the same applied to Europe.
But the nice people from ArenaNet solved this, so NA users only can log into the game from NA but play on EU servers and vice versa.
http://www.guildwarsinsider.com/arenanet-guild-wars-2-client-region-locked/

So DFM, which world should we pick?

EDIT: Added a poll based on the feedback[/b][/list]

Just to make it clear about the locks: they may have been there because the game was in beta. As far as I know, the official launch date is August 28th, so I guess the game is still in beta until then.

I'll get it as soon as I can, no windows machine here, I'll have to run it on Wine.

The launch date is August 28th and I believe you are right about the locks. They even said they might remove the last parts of it later, so there is no lock at all.

Nontheless, I think it's a good idea to figure out what server to play on before launch, since it would be rather annoying to have to start all over on another server because you started out on the 'wrong' one.
... That is of couse, if the DFM members would like to play with each other Peace

I've been thinking about getting it, since there's no subscription to pay.

Some clarification from ArenaNet.

But since there seems to be no real interest for this "project" (except for Digi), that might be somewhat irrelevant :/

Don't know. The first step would, imo, be to figure out if there was any interest for DFM playing together, then find a server and only then deciding such things Dark Smile

Raz, there are 3 of us who are already playing GW, but all 3 of us have never played together. But yes, we can have a DFM guild once all of us have GW2 and digi can be the guild leader like she is in GW1. Preference is for European server.

Peace

I prefer a EU server too (for rather obvious reasons) and so far, with you, Digi, Arny (he would probably llike the idea too) and me, a EU server seems to be the best choice.
If that is the case, then perhaps we should choose a server already?

is the game anything like the origial? I have aplayed the origial for about 6 minutes an lost interest. Althought i was full time raiding on WoW. I suppose this would be a good chance to give it another shot and learn somthing from it.

My only issue is the off times since its going to be a europeans server which would be pretty useless to me. So im gonn assuem this will be a "non-american" thing. And not to metion the possible lag, if any. But it cant be anyworse then any other MMO out there now... fucking D3 was succh a bad dissapointment after ten fucking years. Evil or Very Mad
