Recently read, or long since enjoyed:
* Caveman Chemistry: 28 Projects from the Creation of Fire to the Production of Plastics (Kevin M. Dunn)
* Godel, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid (Douglas Hofstadter)
* The Language Instinct (Stephan Pinker)
* The (New) Turing Omnibus (A. K. Dewdney)
* The Center of the Cyclone (John Lily)
* Hacker's Delight (Henry Warren)
* The Price of Admiralty (John Keagen)
...and of course the obligatory classic sci-fi and early cyberpunk fiction (Gibson and Stephenson).... _________________ --

Well, it certainly isn't "fave literature" but I'm reading "Gibt es einen Schöpfer, der an uns interessiert ist ?" (Is there a Creator who has interest in us ?), some propaganda by JEHOVA's (in big letters, you know they want it that way) witnesses. Only half-way through and what can I say, this is so great! Without any listing of sources for their pseudo-scientific claims (they even copied one section directly from Wikipedia !) and such succint statements that earth would fit over one million times into the sun (you should think they should at least be able to do some simple math; what they meant was the volume of earth, but not the diameter which hasn't been stated anywhere)... read it for your amusement . _________________ o
