Dramatic is written to be played on a theatre, not to been read, so without
imagination it's hard to read, but the content of W.S.'s works is brilliant,
all experts agree with this opinion.

btw, have some math books too, very interesting indeed
Believe me, books are like a movie in my head, I love to read, but Shakespeare is BORING. Peace

Surely you read all of his works, otherwise i should blame you to judge a
book by it's cover, my verdict is based by knowledge, i like that stuff and
with the exception of some unnecessary scenes i can't remember of
boring parts, perhaps another author with this name exists?

btw, the topic is called fave literature, not "i hate what this guy reads", i
didn't read Lovecraft yet for instance, so i keep silence about his works

Had to read most of his works in a high school humanities class, my teacher was a Shakespeare geek. And no amount of any lobbying on Bill's part will convince me otherwise. He was an overrated hack that may not have even written the stuff. Mr. Green

Ah, the old problem, i was forced to read some inconvenient literature too, but as i read the stuff years later voluntaryly, it occured in a different kind
of understanding, please turn back to an adult level, i saw, you don't like
W.S., but it's no reason to disparage his many supporters.
Just recommend some of your faves in here, i have no problem with you,
but i really like his dramatic, you not, OK, i felt entertained while reading
it, and that's what is important to me.

OK, Blas, enough of me giving you Shakespeare geeks a hard time. I posted much earlier about some of my favorites, but here goes with more. My all time favorite is Franz Kafka, have read and reread him many times, also very fond of Dickens, Kant was my favorite in college whilst a Philosophy major. And for some stupid reason I really enjoyed all of Jim Butcher's Dresden Files books, must be the goth in me or something.

I read a lot of other stuff, like history a bunch, got really hooked on SW US history for quite a while. And biographies are great, really enjoyed Quirk's biography of Castro among many. One of my favorite past times is perusing the vast amount of stuff on the Project Gutenberg site, in fact I like it so much I had them send me the dvd of the archives.

So...in my 52 years I've read literally thousands of books, but I still hate Shakespeare. LOL Mr. Green

Right man, that's OK, you hate him, but it's acceptable to me, 'cause you said it not so disparaging this time (forgive you the geek, lol), thx for the hints,
later dude.

wait, i see, bought Kafka recently, a nice cheap collection, will start with that

Another good one written by Len Fisher "Weighing the Soul", just finished
yesterday, but some knowledge in biology and physics needed to read this,
fortunately i liked both subjects and half of the books on the main board
above my desk are about such stuff, some 1000 pages in total, laugh.

Right now I'm reading Children of Dune by Frank Herbert, his books are interesting mix of politics, religion, metaphysics and philosophy in a sci-fi setting. I've already read the end of the series but I'm going back and reading book 3 because I kind of skipped it.

@Irule, IMO the first is still the best, but the whole series is very good. BTW, if you're looking for another series that will just blow you away try Terry Goodkind's "The Sword of Truth" books. They are all very long, and very intricate as is Herbert.

I've read all the books of Goodkind, some very nice ones amongst them
I still have to read the Dune series, they're already a long long time on my list "must read" Grin

Another series definitely worth to mention is:
The Death Gate Cycle
titles:
Dragon Wing
Elven Star
Fire Sea
Serpent Mage
The Hand Of Chaos
Into The Labyrinth
The Seventh Gate

superb books, each one of them
it's one of the best fantasy series I've ever read
a few covers:
