@zarqun:

How about Leifman's Goudenband? Jackson was pretty fond of it as well.....

I'll agree; Goudenband is a pretty damn nice brown ale! Not too shabby with some camambert or brie, either. mmmm.....beeeeeeeer.......

I forgot about Liefman's Goudenband Shocked
it's a very nice beer indeed. And like Jackson said: probably the best brown ale in the world.

how's Old Rasputin like? is it similar to Guiness? cause it looks the same...

Zarquan - the Old Rasputin is Guiness with balls....and then some extra fuzz; it's got the extra syrupy sweetness with a nice warm and roasty fuzz......

....and I can't find it within 60 miles of me....damn. Used to be able to get it...

For anyone in Con. US -> look for Great Divide Brewing's Yeti, or Avery's "Samael's Stout"...perhaps their "Mephistopholes" as well...Wink

@dark: run along with the mob... you go, boy!
Grin

Most popular beers are beers I don't like much.
e.g. rarely I drink pils, pale ales,... with low alcohol percentage like Jupiler, Stella, Primus, Bavik, Heineken, Budweiser,...
most of those beers are booze for kids Grin

and if you look at my 3 favourite beers, only one of them is a bit popular (Duvel), the other 2 beers (Rodenbach and Pilaarbijter) are region-bounded.

Pilaarbijter (literally translated: pillarbiter)

brown:

blonde:

Pilaarbijter
it is said it's a beer with a soul. When bottled there's a second fermentation.
alcohol percentage: 7,2%
serve at a temperature between 8°C and 12°C

Pilaarbijter: a flemish expression for a hypocrite
