I Need someone a explaination on why Death Metal is Different to Brutal Death Metal. I Know why but i just cant explain why. I Can tell when a band is a BDM band just cant explain it.
Also Is Brutal Death Metal a Valid Genre? |

The borders of both genres are melting, because death metal is the genre and brutal death the subgenre... you've the same prob with death grind or goregrind in my oppinion.
The main difference i think the classical death metal is "classic" that means you can find the music structures in other bands that play pure death metal but exist for a longer time. its not that brutal - that means in my oppinion death metal can exist completly without blast beats or grunts. Often in pure death the vocals are easier to understand. I think to be brutal death it needs blastbeats. Btw brutal death is very fast, while pure death can be mid-tempo or slow.
In my oppinion one step more complicated is to differ death grind and brutal death. for example Gorgasm and Disgorge. I would categorize both as brutal death, but Disgore is announced as death grind if i remember right.
I think the decision depends on the oppinion of the listener and the musician itself.
My band calls its style "cuntgrinding death metal" ... try to define "cuntgrinding" hahaha  |

And why do you like that? Sounds like a little counseling could be very helpful. I listen to music to chill, if I want to get angry I'll go get stuck in rush hour traffic in town, or something like that.
