I was thinking about Manowar's "The Triumph Of Steel"...
Your last 2 covers look much like this one, but they're way worse. _________________ diginferno

Sorry folks, RelaS is right, i must admit, the last posting is not of the quality like the first.
Nevertheless i hope, you take it as an inspiration, to find some more obvious
examples, i will add one next.

this is not cover plagiarism.. just common metal scene covers, about common metal topics _________________ None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free - Goethe

Hi Misa, i agree with you in matters of common themes in metal and
some examples are just similar, but in case of Exciter & Gates O.I. it
is definitely plagiarism, the last reply is quoted from a mag, the author
was the same opinion, furthermore the proprietor of Gates' record label
went in insolvency, later the 2 CD's were reissued with different covers.
The suspicion is at hand, thx for your comment, i like to discuss, perhaps
you have some better to add, Blasph. |

OK, new one in the correct thread per Post Police Blas. Wongraven and Carpathian Forest both used the same cover pic in their 1995 albums. But one problem, who plagiarized who? Both albums are listed as 1995 releases with no month.

Hej,
Imo the only plagiarism case is the man holding the sword in the first post, the two look really similar...
About wongraven and carpathian forest it IS the same drawing, resized, so the same artist. Could also be the case, you should also check the artists signing those, artists make artworks for many metal bands.
I agree that the 8-arm indian goddess (shiva or so. ?) is NO plagiarism, just a classic figure represented different ways.
The warrior is indeed very manowar-ish too, and the "triumph of steel" artwork is great, for those who don't know, it's 6 times the cd cover when you unfold it.
I remember some hammerfall cover looked like another one but can't remember the other band. Maybe someone can help me, think that was a very famous band.
Must have been that one :
