Chewing Gum Kills Student
09 December 2009
A 25-year-old chemistry student was killed when chewing gum that he had treated with chemicals exploded in his mouth, Interfax reported Tuesday.
The unidentified student from the Kiev Polytechnic Institute was carrying out an experiment in his apartment in the northern Ukrainian city of Konotop when the accident occurred, Interfax said, citing Ukrainian police.
As part of the experiment, the student dipped his chewing gum into a solution and tried to chew. The gum exploded.
The composition of the solution has not yet been determined.

indeed they should , but with a health hazard warning . After the chemical formula for it has been ascertained.
