I'm just starting some hypothetical fun here... I don't really know who would win in battle. I have heard stories about the Vikings, and I have seen the glorified "300" movie.
What do you all think?

Yep you're right vikings were on average two heads taller than the spartans. When the romans first met some folks from the north the just ran in panic and where slaughtered in the forest (the word barbarian comes from this incident). This bodily adavantage rules out the discipline of the Spartans.
Another point is that the battle formation of ancient Greece just works if you face your enemy on an open battlefield. If this is not the case you are just a fat sitting duck. Just remember the battle of Varus 9 AD.
long story short if fought on the right battlefield the vikings would surely win |
