Saw this 3d animated epic on Saturday. I give it out of 5. It's a kid flick, but rather dark for little Susie. When I was done watching it I thought I had just watched LOTR with owls instead of Hobbits and Elves. The battle scenes are awesome, and the home of the Guardians will remind you of Rivendell or someplace like that. I recommend this to anyone that loves dark fantasy, but don't bring your 5 year old, I'd say 8 would be the absolute minimum age for this movie. One thing this movie proves to me is that the current 3d technology is made for animated movies, the live action 3d movies I've seen didn't cut it.

Funny thing is, when we came out of the theatre I told Aley I thought it was like LOTR with owls like I mentioned in the original post. Well, I read a review of it, and the reviewer said the same thing! Guess it really must look that way to a quite a few folks. _________________ Not dead, just sleeping.

Cool CJ, I was probably going to pass that one up.
Resident Evil: Afterlife in 3D was pretty great too. I'm not just referring to the action and shit, but the quality of the filming and the smoothness of the textures.
It was filmed from beginning to end with digital 3D cameras. Most live action 3D movies are still recorded with regular movie cameras and made 3D post-production, like that latest Alice in Wonderland movie by Tim Burton. Christ it was a fucking mess to watch. Horrible. _________________ Death to false metal. \,,/ |

Well I couldn't see this in 3D, but liked the movie nonetheless. Watched it only recently though.
For those of you interested, its also based on a book series. Check here for more information - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guardians_of_Ga%27Hoole
