This is why i keep nothing of importance on my computers. I have an external HDD that i use on a notebook i have locked down. And even STILL that imformation isnt really important. I still use paper to do my bills. I never trust the interwebz. The only thing they could get into would be my blizzard account but i have extra protection for it and its on a keychain and a random number is generated. The webz is becoming a dangerouse place... |

They web have always been Dark.
It is a lost battle on the security front, since it is always possible to break it.
Some easier than others of couse, but nontheless, breakable.
But that is true for the paper-thing too. If I really wanted to get your personal information, it is obtainable, just like it is for everyone else.
It's all about making it hard enough to get it, so most people decided it is not worth it. But in the end, if it is something they really want, thet will get it.
Read some time ago about a group of scientist who broke RSA SecurID in a horrible way. Was able to crack it in less than 15min!

On topic:
Whoops!
Two-factor authentication for Google accounts is a 'must have'! Makes it lot harder to hack it, and should make most 'common' hackers give up
And of couse, Apple and Amazon should pull themselves together. Thats was a bummer! |

I'd be pissed to have money stolen from my account, but fuck amazon & apple! _________________ None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free - Goethe

So I have to stop shopping at Amazon now? Well at least it's going to save me a ton of money!
Edit: Actually it's pointless for me to stop using Amazon because I already have an account with them; at least I don't have accounts with Youtube/Google or Twitter; Now I can see why! |
