yucky yuck sick

if you enjoy listening to bands such as AFI or armor for sleep (can't think of any others to list) then this album is for you to have playing in the background while you cry and cut yourself.... please take it with you when you leave this site, as this is garbage that simply does not belong here..... the vocals on their own aren't half bad, their front woman has a pretty voice. other than that fact its pure dung.

A new Mercenary

The review from Bile above must be to a completely different band....

Yes, I am a huge Mercenary fan (see my other 3 Mercenary reviews) and honestly I didn't know what to expect when I got this album, since Morten & Mikkel Sandager and Mike Park left Mercenary the year before this was released.
As the album title reveals, this is Mercenary version....well, kinda hard to say what version it is, since every single Mercenary album has had a different lineup. They have become a quartet once again (which they haven't been since their debut First Breath from 1998) and to be honest having Rene Pedersen doing both growls/shouts and high pitched clean singing is in my opinion too much to ask. He does a good job, but only 'good'.
Honestly this new Mercenary isn't really me. It's too soft and centered around power metal melodies, lacking a lot of the harsh guitar sound that all the previous albums had. I get the feeling that they have the intentions of making a huge sounding album, but for whatever reasons it only gets halfway there.
