How to convert wife to Metal?

That never works for me. My girlfriend says that metal all sounds like noise. As soon as she hears a distorted guitar she will be done with it. Sigh.... Ear buds will have to do.

I started listening to metal because of my friends, so if you want her to start liking metal there's one thing you can't do, which is try to force her to listen to it and say her current tastes are bad, just keep listening to it and showing her how you like it, she'll end up taking a listen and with time who knows she'll like it as much as you do. Before becoming a metal fan I used to listen mostly to pop rock like Simple plan and Avril Lavigne, and then I started liking doom or gothic related bands like Tristania, Nightwish, After Forever, Aesma Daeva, Draconian, maybe this is a good first, step nothing too heavy that will hurt her ears as a first time listener.

All of my partners have been metal fans since before I met them, but if I were to "convert" someone, I'd start with the softest stuff. I don't know, something like Babymetal could do the trick, it has the softness of usual music and the badass aspects of metal.
Then, if she bites, you can gradually put harder and harder stuff, and within a year or a year and a half, she'll listen to death metal with you!
