Since most of the best drummers have been listed so far, how about Fredrik Andersson ? I think his drums sound unique, like some heavy armoured battlecruiser. _________________ o

Exactly that one, but he is still playing with Amon Amarth if I'm not misinformed. _________________ o

My favorite drummer is Pete Sandoval of Morbid Angel. I just like his style. What do you guys think?
The only outstanding member of Cannibal Corpse is the bassist Alex Webster in my opinion.
Tomas Haake of Meshuggah did a good job with timings on past albums but on Catch 33 (which is a piece of horse shit), they used drum samples which are boring and normalized (undynamic volume). Fucking horrible. |

Pete Sandoval is good. I guess all drummers who make it in successful groups are not gonna be shit. I think it's a matter of opinion as to which one you prefer (like everything)

exactly, waffen
didn't have time yet to check Meshuggah's latest album.... so can't have an opinion about their drumcomputers (but out of experience: they mostly suck)
I also do agree with your choice to nominate Sandoval |

Zarqun, not too into Messhugga. Not my style. Chaosphere was ok tho.

Im actually kinda glad fredrick is still in amarth... his drumming in Vs the World and Crusher was powerfull and fucking awsome. I think they would just tone down alot and suck without him. |

didn't Martin Lopez also play for Amon Amarth? I think the last album he drummed on was Once sent from the golden hall |

I searched it, I found a topic on another forum
It doesn't give much information:
read it here
that time, the project (he supposed to be busy with) was still unnamed
oh, and cause of searching what Lopez is doing now I found out Bloodbath's drummer Martin 'Axe' Axenrot is replacing him in Opeth
damn I have a serious arrears on metal |

From the list above, i'm with George Kolias. But i miss Derek Roddy (ex-Hate Eternal)... the guy is an amazing drummer.
Ahn, almost forget! RENO KILLERICH, from Panzerchrist. This dude is not human. He has a machine gun in his bass drum.... outstanding! _________________ "Fists are in the air. banging everywhere thrashing to the sound, faces melting down!

myself @ best drummer thread: I'm not an expert, just listen to the music, so my knowledge in techniques lacks, but i favour Matte Modin (Defleshed / Dark Funeral / Infernal) 'cause his style to play is exactly what i want to listen to. |
