Hey peeps,
today i realised a problem on the chat... if i wanted to post a link like
"www.myspace,com/gorethroat fuck"
the text field and post button disappeared an nothing happened.
Is it disabled to post links? Did i miss something?
Greets,
Wurst |

No, Wurst, it was probably a network b0rk. Your link to www.myspace.com/gorethroat should be displayed and it will even work, provided that you replace the comma with a dot _________________ diginferno

The same problem, if you post an extremely long link from eBay for instance
what needs the whole address bar then there's not enough space.
Also some links from minor pages on wikipedia didn't work just vanished i noticed. |

I figure that we'd better use TinyURL for long URLs. I've seen it frequently on SST and I think it's the best solution. This way we also get rid of "smiley" character combinations which result in breaking the link on chat.

No, it's not done on purpose. Actually, I just tried to post http://www.myspace.com/a in chat and it worked. Sometimes our servers are overloaded, which slows down the web interface. If the amount of processing time exceeds certain values, some connections may be lost and that's how it happens (it either fails to read the input or fails to deliver the output).
