You know the feature when you hover over the name of a poster in the chat, you get the time/date displayed when the post was made.
What do you think about the feature that in addition to the time/date the current tracktitle will be displayed. That makes it alot easier to understand which track is meant when somebody posts "woa i luv 'dis awesome bitch track" and you read it a little later and don't know which track was played at the posters time. |

Sorry, but I think that would have two negative effects upon the chat system:- The timestamp is actually stored in the chat log, that's why we can display it on hover. What you request will mean to store the current track in the log, as well. Storage issues? Performance issues, especially when the chat is busy?
- I think it would clog the interface, since that information is displayed in a tooltip. Think about something like this: "Bal-Sagoth - The Splendour Of A Thousand Swords Gleaming Beneath The Blazon Of The Hyperborean Empire". And I didn't include the album title here (which, btw, is "Starfire Burning Upon The Ice-Veiled Throne Of Ultima Thule")
Of course, this is just my opinion. It is up to JERIC and Pesa to decide whether it's worth doing it or not.

A very good Wurst's idea and a better yet digi's reply.
The worst is the performance issue. Access to history list is among the heaviests of our databases.
Lets this idea around our minds. May be that some trick shows up suddenly.

Ok i don't know exactly how the system works. How much of the chat log is stored? i think the chat log doesn't look that big, but ok. How about just storing the songID thats chust a simple integer i think. On creating the chatlog page the songid could be converted to the tracktitlte OR a like to the track or something.
And ok i see the problem with the long track names... |
