Well, the VIP thing didn't work nor the donation meter so we're trying this. I know a lot of you may complain about this but we have to do something to keep the music blasting for everyone, which is my primary goal.

I appreciate everyone who has supported Death.FM. This has been a hobby for me for the past 2 years which has been funded primarily by me. I am transitioning to a business type model so I can no longer continue to take a loss.

Death.FM is free to listen to all!
Death.FM stream is ad free!

For only $4.99 a month you are supporting us and you get virtually unlimited requests! We also have plans to add higher bitrate streaming for RIP members and hopefully additional benefits to come.

I am realy desapointed, but i will try to be correct the most i can. The idea of this radio was very nice, i was realy happy to listen lots of band i like on this station, for free and met lots of people who think like me that metal is a very good music. But now, i realized that a hierarchy is built. Now, only people who PAY can request songs. If you pay you're a VIP members, bullshit, i left death.fm i know other station where i can listening good bands all the time without money. Equality was eradicated of this station, fuck money and fuck VIP members, goodbye, and have a nice day !

This is the problem with people. If you give people free ice cream for a while then when you can't afford to give it away anymore people start demanding where the fuck their free ice cream is!

It's still free to listen here. So before you get into a hissy fit put yourself in my shoes. Ask yourself, what have I done to contribute to DFM?

You can go to the next station, suck the life out of it and move on to the next. if you want. Or you can stop your bitching and pony of 500 pennies to support this place that you supposedly love.

Nothing is free in life and if you haven't learned that yet you're in trouble.

Sorry, but i don't understand you. You said "...virtually unlimited requests...". I would interpretate this as if I am able to request (if im registered), but its limited. I just tried to request a song and it worked! So please specify what it means to be not a RIP Member ...

Greetings,

Virtually meaning you will be just restricted by the min wait time, nothing else. We're in the process of re-writing code that will allow nonRIP requests but they will have to wait a lot longer (like the way the system was) but at least people can choose to be a RIP monthly basis instead of just yearly. 15 min wait time for nonRIPs is unlikely. But we'll see what we can do with the code. This was the easiest way to roll this out. I have eneabled requests until we get this straight.

If i got you right, then i will be able to request in the future but i have to wait a longer time than the RIPs... i think that would be fair.
Could you tell me how long the RIPs and nonRIPs will have to wait (round about)?

Greetings wurst

Nothing is set in stone but the ratio may be something like 5:1. example: 60min for nonRIP, 5min for RIP
This is also dependent on queue length.

Its basically the same setup on SST... But its worth the $5. Another reason is the fact that the still was donations and most of those ppl would be willing to pay the fee. I will.

I'll be willing to pay the fee.... Could you put up a yearly amount option because it'll be a lot easier for some of us instead of month to month.

Also out of curiousity will current VIPs be made into RIPs until the remainder of the VIP memberships?

Edit- I saw that you have already transfered VIP to RIP.

$4.99 for RIP Monthly
(I wanted to do $6.66 to be clever but I thought it was a little too much)

$49.99 for RIP Yearly

All VIPs have already been converted to RIPs.
