Jeric,

I am really interested, in how u choose, which band or cd u add. Does it only depend on your taste? Do u buy cds? do bands and labels send their cds in to you? what do u do if any user sends u a CD u absolutely dun like?

Razyutis tends to say: Jeric wont add it. How can he know? iam really curious. I know that u cant buy every cd, but do u like Doom for example yourself?

questions of questions, Thanks for your patience:)

I get CDs a few ways...

1. I buy them. If I hear something I really like I will buy it or sometimes I take a chance on something new. buying CDs is a company expense so I get to write a portion of it off for taxes.

2. CDs are sent in from bands or labels. I am more likely to add something if it is mailed to me in hopes for our support. I do the best I can but there are some things I won't add because of a few reasons a. doesn't fit the playlist b. poor production c. it sucks!

3. Members donate CDs. Same rules apply. I have rejected a few CDs from bands/labels/donations before. I feel bad about it but keeping the quality of the playlist is more important to me than people's feelings.

I do inject my personal taste to DFM. If I just add anything, even stuff I hate I will loose my passion to keep this station running if I keep hearing crap.

I do like Doom, in smaller doses though. Some of it I won't add like if the tracks are +20 minutes and there isn't a good place to break it up. I tend to favor melodic stuff but I like a wide variety. My least liked is grind.

Hope that answers your questions. Wink

I like grind. I'd much rather here that then a lot of the mystical elf metal that is played. Falkenbach, moonspell, whatever.

I'd much rather here stuff like Amebix, Zena Geva, or Dystopia that rocks.

Even High on Fire (who I absolutely love but wouldn't necessarily put on the DFM playlist) is much heavier and aggressive and interesting then the opera metal.

But then if Mastodon is on the playlist you may as well put HoF on too.
