I know there are plenty of us out here that still have vinyl laying around that we listen to. I have a closet full that I have an ongoing project of converting to cd for easier use. I use a Technics SL-Q2 direct drive turntable with a Stanton 681EEE-S type cartridge plugged into a GLi GLX2800 rack mountable pre-amp/mixer. This all goes into the sound card on my computer. I've had that turntable for 30 years.

I have a old-school Schneider turntable connected to a stereo. Couldn't find a specific model name on it but at least it already has a 33/45 RPM-Switch.

Then I have a more modern (but not all too classy) Lenco L-3866 USB Turntable connected to my PC of course which I mostly use to rip vinyl to MP3 which works in a astounding high quality. This one has a built in pre-amp of course.

Some broken JVC one, some all in one with a broken needle right by an eight-track/receiver.

Don't have a physical preamp, software. If I wanted one I'd build it, and waste my cash on several thoughsand potentiometers and LEDs.
