There are some songs containing senseless noise or silence, for instance
"Realm Of A Thousand..." by Lord Belial, reported several of those to
the staff for a cut, now i would like to know what program is the best
to do this with my MP3 on harddrive to save space, thx in advance.

You could try Audacity . I don't know if it's the best in its category, but I've only heard good things about it. And it's open source.

For such things I always use Goldwave, I really can handle its GUI very well, unfortunately not an open source programme Wink. You can save in very much different file formats but for MP3 you need to first install the lame MP3 Encoder in your windows system32 directory.

This is an excellent program, I used a much earlier version years ago to clean up surveillance tapes. But, 2 downsides, it cost around $50 and it is not real user friendly, kind of complicated, but that 's what happens with more powerful software I guess.
