I mainly consider vocals to be another instrument, I usually only care about lyrics from certain bands. |

Lyrics...  The most useless invention ever.
There are a few exceptions, but not enough to change my opinion.
With death metal I don't understand a word anyway, and I can't say I care.
Other music genres or when it's in German... most times I wish I couldn't understand a word!

i feel that its not so much the lyrics, as it is how the lyrics are presented in the song. if the gutar/drums dont fit with the phrases, then it sounds crappy.

Honesty i have read and learned some of the brutal piggy lyrics. I can and somtime keep up with the grunts and growls, but its pretty much for my own entetainment. You realy dont see ppl singing that shit anyway. |

Yes Of Course. I do care about the lyrical theme of all the music i'm listening to. Bad lyrics mainly end in bad music, but also many bands have bad lyrics and play good music and viceverza.
What definitively makes a band awesome and important is the correct blend of them both.

I dont care much for lyrics. Ive heard bands that have terrible and funny lyrics, but the music is heavy enough to hide the lyrics.
