Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad
This damn thing hangs up loading of DFM very frequently. I'm getting really sick of it, it is really starting to piss me off. JERIC, PLEASE get rid of this!

Anyone else having this problem. I know its not just me, happens at home and at work.
Mad

I'm supporting this idea. I never read the feedzilla news, and it slows down the loading of the site.

Well, it doesn't affect my browsing, but it's worth adding that I never look at it either...

I don't know if it's the feed or the animation or both, but I tend to believe that it's the animation that's troubling the browsers. Off with its head! Mad

Yah...it looks like the scrolling is causing trouble. And what's making it worse is the forum updates (also scrolling in case someone did not notice), the news feed & partners list are almost in the same section of the page. So eventually, you end up with three sections of the site scrolling in a certain area of the page. Woah

I think like digi mentioned, just disabling the scrolling for the forum updates & news feed should do the trick. Plain old scroll bar always works. Rolling Eyes Peace

Fuck...I never realized that the news feed was actually embedded flash. Shocked Woah

Please get rid of the embedded flash & maybe you can use the HTML with scrolling text option that is available at the Feedzilla site. Peace

Neither did I, until you mentioned it. Dammit... Yeah, this pretty much explains the load times. I used to curse the Flash ads that pop every once in a while, some of them hanged my browser. The Feedzilla gadget only makes things worse for me.
Sad

I don't think you need to block it anymore. Thanks to Pesa, it has now been converted to scrolling html & is flash no more. Peace Cool

Could you mates tell me whether pages are loading better/faster now?

On the inertia of News block (changed from Flash to PHP/HTML), I changed the way of loading of Forums Last Posts and Partners blocks too.

Now, those 3 blocks are loaded as asynchronous AJAX.

I tried to make the same with that dear Stats block but could not get it (yet!).
