Threads like this normally get locked and deleted, so don't go too far and poll it, too.

Poll deleted. Peace

LOL LOL LOL

EDIT: I didn't see that DM added the poll, didn't reread the original post. Mad

Oh well, DM please put it back if you want. Grin

The poll clearly stated that Kittie needs to be taken out with the litter...

Seriously... If Kittie doesn't go, can we agree that D.FM needs to stay away from Alt. Metal and Reg. Metal??????????

"Death to false metal."

You've said it all, dude, we like our music extreme, brutal & fast. It's not a matter of being tolerant to other music, is because this stuff simply doesnt belong here, Kittie is a wanna be metal band, is false metal. If we accept this kind of "alternative" music there should be a whole other stuff here that actually falls in the D.FM category i.e. Napalm Death

Oh come on digi... You could take Korn and compare it to Myriads too. You could take Ozzy Osbourne and Alice in Chains and do the same thing. They are ALL way harder than Myriads, but none of them should be added either.

(And you picked a hell of a band to compare it too, cuz if we had our druthers, myrAIDS would be kicked out the door along with the Kittie.)

BUT -- and this is as close as I'll ever get to defending Myriads... *shiver* -- at least Myriads is extreme.. Extremely slow, extremely shitty and extremely annoying.

Kittie is just mainstream metal... Aren't we all here to take a break from mainstream metal? Isn't that the point?

So fine, "NO REMOVALS". The tweaked-out meth cat in the window gets its way. I can respect that. You don't go around fuckin' with meth cats.

This loops us back to the main concern and puts the entire founding principle and philosophy of Death.FM in to question: Is Death.FM going to start including Mainstream Metal into the music catalog?

I sure as hell hope not. As it is, most of what I listen to at home isn't even here, lots of doom, stoner doom and underground black metal. If we added any more MTV/VH1 music I think I'd...well I don't know what I'd do, I'd be real pissed though. With this shit, all the recent core, and the proliferation of all sounds the same "brutal" death metal...wtf, I'm just getting myself even more pissed off. Mad

I almost forgot. As for Myriads, well they are in a class all by themselves, they are here solely to piss people off. LOL

aiolyfe has brought everything to the point, the presence of Kittie (or any similar mainstream stuff) on this station is watering the identity of this fine station and its community. None of its listerners should support such a development, IMO. Btw, I find it somewhat ominous that almost all Kittie tracks had already been requested. Shocked

p.s. I remember that I was bashed for requesting Thrash Metal with the argument "doesn't fit in here". Its ok for me when a rule is a RULE and no exceptions are made for alt. metal (I wouldn't even call it metal at all) Mad

Well, we've all made our individual arguments for or against it... so at this point there's nothing further to do. Jeric has no obligation to reply.

Hopefully our concerns actually matter -- and this thread hasn't been deleted, so thank you. Thank you CJ, Digi, Death Medic and Jeric. \,,/

This thread LOL LOL LOL

I totally agree that Kittie doesn't belong on here. Now I know it will never get removed, but it is still nice to put your two cents in. Now as for the Deathcore and other metal on here a lot of that you can't hear on the radio, so that is why it is on here. But I agree some metal just shouldn't be on here, like main stream stuff like Pantera and Megadeth. This is the home of extreme metal stuff you can't hear any where else. Now I know you don't all agree but all this music kind of fits together, which is because of the growl. Cool
