Is there something we can do about this? Sure, you pay for RIP, but that doesn't mean someone wants to log onto the site and listen to almost 2 hours of one person's choices. Maybe limit the picks to like 3 or 4 in a row, or only so many songs by a member in the queue at the same time? This has been happening a bunch lately in the evening. Even letting the robot pick is better than one member, at least it varies the genres quite a bit. I put this up in the moderator forum, we talked a bit about it with no resolution, so I decided to poll the masses. Remember, this is just an idea, so if members like the idea we can talk more about the way it should go. Of course, you know who this is ultimately up to. _________________ Not dead, just sleeping.

CJ you dare to criticise JERIC who's experienced on more than one station?
With the exception of SST (more traffic) this happens on all of the stations.
If i'm alone and none else requesting i want to listen to my music, also
most of the other RIP's, works perfectly, insolent you who doesn't pay for
being a RIP, just request more if you want different songs and thx
for leaving Gay Crying Shite in q on Sunday morning, was me who needed to
listen while you were sleeping.

hehe, did I strike a nerve? And as for your first sentence, you will note my very last sentence, so just drop that, OK. And you know as well as I do that each of the stations is VERY different.
And blas, your choices I do find the least offensive. _________________ Not dead, just sleeping.

Problem is quote another member: the system let you pick every song,
means as many 18 minutes songs in a row as you want.
Solution was, 2 requests back-to-back not more than 12-15 minutes in total,
but too complex to implement i guess, unfortunately my Turkish translation
of "netiquette" got deleted. |

Well, the system doesn't allow artist or album duplication so there is variety there... just maybe not genre variety. Personally, I don't think it's a real big issue. You have to wait to hear your requests anyway so basically if you have a few members with the same taste in music, you'll end up with a similar queue anyway. _________________ Cower... in fear... as I demonstrate... my TRUE POWER!!!!

I don't care. If people are RIP then there's no problem. As long as the music is good it dosen't matter. _________________ Its a trick.......get an axe! |

Thnx for bringing this again on the table as it is an obvious matter. A lot of RIPs just love taking it all. I personally like when the queue is empty and can make it a decent radio of my taste. Lets say i have my 20 songs a day i like, then i recognize i don´t feel like it anymore (cause not in mood etc.) But here comes in the fact some tend to do agressive queueing to get the sub90mins gap. I also do this for not dying of blasitis. I think also a lot non RIPs would just welcome to do use their 2 hours range more if them would have the possibility. And it´s not possible if i get an "it was green since minutes" as answer, which is not true.
It´s in the hand of every person to be fair to other (alright with netiquette argument) but it´s no sense in just queuing up. We had this also with points dicussions etc. Im for restriction or appeal to mass spammers on selfrestraint. And i know i was online and had 15 songs in queue (sunday 5am MET) but as others came online in notice they in fact "wanted" to request as they also started. So maybe some can´t read between lines when they see more names up the queue that there´s the wish to participate or just "ignore" others.
In fact a community obeys rules for all (RIP/nonRIP) is one. But who says that their shouldn´t be rules among RIPs?! I can´t expect a non RIP to perfectly hit the minute of request when the queue drops below 90mins even he would like to put up another song within his range cause he/she got no counter. "Hey it´s green". A lot RIPs use this and i charge myself for it for doing this for subversive reason sometime to keep different. _________________ Never mess with la raza !

It's all good. I prefer to listen to someone elses, than the random system selection or whatever. Sometimes it picks some really.... not so good music. But yeah, power "to first come first serve". Lol. |

HEH, I've seen people q-ing up lots of songs and then saying "I'm off to bed, cya", leaving the rest to listen to it.. too many assholes everywhere, so no chance for a change.. _________________ None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free - Goethe

Calm down Misan. Go shoot a moose or have a wank and relax a bit. Or Both. Simultaneously

I cannot see the problem with taking the q. When Iam here almost alone in the morning, shall I wait to request? What happens then? The computer DJ starts to put songs in the queue that are rarely played. Is that better than a Q of mine?
When there are more ppl online, the q grows and so does the variety. One has to wait to be able to req and thus the q is not taken over by one person.
I am AGAINST more restrictions. What would it bring to be RIP if everything is restricted???? _________________ JOIN ZAGANISM, PM ME FOR INFOS (Headpriest Cherubian)

Yeah, I like requesting a lot on workdays, since I'm at work. When my working day is finished, I'm finished with DFM. At home I have different things to do. I don't think that's a big problem for Americans or non-European people who wake up when I go home. And on the whole I don't see a problem here! If RIPs pay, they can request more! This is the logic, or I am mistaken? In fact, I'm a RIP mainly because of requests. Being a RIP gives me a chance to listen to music that I like... I don't give a shit about all pig fucking and killing noise that some people adore here... And that is the main reason for me to request more to have a bit of variation in the queue. Fuck, I'm tired of explaining clear issues... Get even more regulations, get less RIPs and close down the station in the end... or make it as it was originally - no payments, freedom and justice for all!!!
