But I think it's set up incorrectly over here or just isn't working like it's supposed to be. If I go to http://ip-to-country.webhosting.info/ I can see my country or if I try the demo and enter my IP. And I can't believe that like 60-80% of DFM visitors have these "super secret" IPs which even the biggest databases don't know or which just won't resolve to hostnames etc 
Of course I don't care about it much, but if it's there it should work properly.
Another idea is that you do the lookup yourself within your portal, though it might get slow, but do it only during logging in and update the info in your user database and request it from there afterwards.

I thought phpBB had a option where you can select your country in your account/profile. Or is that a mod?

That's a mod and it wouldn't show up on the User Info block. Congrats!

OK, that's good to know. I can't figure out why it's not getting the IP of a lot of people. I even upgraded it hoping that would fix it. I will continue to look into this.

Has anybody already solved "this" problem. I don´t care because of I have flag but a lot of my friends always ask me how I managed to do it. I don´t know . |
