|
Hi all ,
I'm traveling for 3 weeks (in November) to a circular travel through Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.
Anyone know what is the risk of malaria in these countries? Should i take prophylactic medication or is mosquito-bite prevention sufficient?
'My' doc recommend me take doxycyccline, which is a helluva strong antibiotic -
I'm not overjoyed at the prospect of taking these on a semi-permanent basis for the forseeable future.
Anyone who lives there got anything else they swear by?? I appreciate any help...
Thanks! |

Rub a liberal amount of automotive grease all over your entire body, including your head (shaving your head first is recommended). That way a nice thick coating of grease will protect you from anything that bites. _________________ Not dead, just sleeping.

I noticed there are some bracelets that are supposed to protect you against mosquitoes. Avoiding the beasts seems to be the best prophylactic method. But I think you should have some of that antibiotic with you, just in case. _________________ diginferno

Theres no way to protect against it. Vaccines provide some protection, but just to be safe avoid any conflict areas... _________________ Found that Dove. Thanks to my brother Seclu \m/ |

Or just use mud, as most of the other mammals on there, and do not close by still water, small ponds, rainwater wells..... _________________ i am so ebil that i piss darkness |

I'd like to know more about that kind of bracelet for my protection.
