Developed by an Austrailian company a new type of graphics that uses small atoms instead of polygons.

But do home computers even have components capable of running technology that advanced yet?

It would seem pointless to release something that advanced when consumers wouldn't even be able to use it.

They are working on it... there is another technology that ray-tracing which uses light. Which DOES create very realistic graphics but very demanding. Probably 50x more then this technology. But the issue is that graphics cards could probably run it... but since gaming demands on the fly data procession you will have very low framrates. But this still is better the polygons and ray-tracing.

Ray-tracing and some other rendering motors like Mental-ray and V-ray

Ray tracing is more taxing on Graphics Hardware then this style.

Some of the very expensive custom built PCs can... the rest of the 80% no.

Video games arent the waste of time. The demand for higher graphics actually pushes science and technology.
