Have Dimmu Borgir ever been cool? Like maybe in the early days?

Of course we're all aware that their most recent album sucked pretty bad.

It's simple, we are sending Modos after you!

On topic:
They have made some good songs, but I don't like the 'new' Borgir.
But ... Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia and Stormblåst will always be good Cool

The only GOOD DB was when Nick Barker was their drummer. For some reason his drumming makes any band fucking shine. Other then that they really lost what they were about...

A good point to this is OMC Defiant of Existance is probabaly my fav drumming album of ALL time. I literally tear up at the greatness of that album...

I like Dimmu since Inn I Evighetens Mørke Demo till Spiritual Black Dimensions Album. Stormblåst and Enthrone Darkness Triumphant are my favs. Puritanical is between the border of good and regular, the Stormblåst re-edit was a crap and the new Dimmu has nothing to do with the good old one, it's just a fashion like the new Cradle.

Thanks for your input everyone. I will now summarize the data. All bands follow a career trajectory from being cool at the start, to becoming uncool at some point, after which coolness can never be revived.

So, we can clearly see that everything was fine up to and including Death Cult Armageddon, then the rot set in with the ill-advised re-recording of Stormblast.

Once again, thank you all for your considered and fair-minded assessment.
