Ever wonder why good music doesn't make it into the charts? I never did in the 1980's when WOBHM was N, and every week was something good in the chart. What do we have now? Steve Harris, Kiss and bloody Rush. Did metal die in 1985?
Thank God (if he exists) for the underground, and DFM! |

Hard to say. I guess there are some people out there who would be able to tell you why the modern pop music is more popular then metal.
Probably something about how the sounds interact with your subconscious or similar.
To the above I would add tradition too - don't like them.
As Basher so nicly put it, those fine charts have never been my cup of tea either and to be honest I couldn't care less about the 'popular' music than I already do.
In fact I hate the entire idea about those 'best music'/'top charts' thing - music is very personal and it is a complete waste of time to try to make some 'all mighty best music lists'. They might be true for 92% of the population, but what about the rest?
The day they can make a list that covers everybody will be the same day as I give birth to a Ood!
... and until then the charts can lick my ass and beg for mercy! |

Those are commercial charts, they have nothing to do with creativity. _________________ diginferno

What makes me mad is most people don't get to hear the good stuff. And the bands can't even quit their day jobs! _________________ Don't write in, it's just for fun! |

most people are too dumb to appreciate it, it's better for them to stick with Gaga _________________ None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free - Goethe
