|
We all complain about bands that were once hard and heavy then later pussify their sound and sell out. Metallica, Amorphis, The Gathering and Theatre of Tragedy are some that can think of this second but there are many, many more.
What bands do you think have done the opposite? For example, Moonspell has come full circle with their latest album. _________________ "It's all Venger's fault! We oughtta do something about that guy. " -Eric

I don't know if you can call it a "sell in," but the newest album by Bloodthorn is more aggressive and brutal than their previous stuff, abandoning the keyboards that were present in their earlier work. Genocide is a really GREAT album, imo!

I know of one... Nile. You can tell from there last albums there was alot of egyptian "synth" or whatever... but since they got George alot of the egytpian stuff has dropped and alot harder faster music was made. Anihillation i think is one of there best to date. They still have the egyptian theme but its just alot better. |

I consider Hypocrisy a band that continuously evolves without ever selling in or out yet still experimenting with new sounds. Very few bands can pull that off and in my book they are the masters. _________________ "It's all Venger's fault! We oughtta do something about that guy. " -Eric

That´s right. I always loved and liked Hypocrisy. Ofc they had weaker and better albums, but that depends on taste id say.
One band, that got a little heavier again is Paradise Lost. I loved their first Gothic Metal Albums. But then they got into Electronic stuff, i didnt like. their later albums are not really heavy, but at least more rock again. _________________ JOIN ZAGANISM, PM ME FOR INFOS (Headpriest Cherubian)

In my oinion, Dimmu Borgir, Behemoth, Satyricon and some other Black metal bands, supported new death-black trend just are "sell in". Dimmu Borgir looks more pitiful because they try to repeat Cradle Of Filth more and more. oowww, and of cause Old Man's Child to. _________________ Fuck yeah! |

yep, behemoth turned more and more brutal with every release.. the same with Nevermore, but of course they don't belong here.. though I like them very much.. _________________ None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free - Goethe
