Metal bands have the most original/unusual names of all music genres.. however some are trying too hard and come up with totally ridiculous or just dumb names. name the ones you think fit into this category.
Mine : Abominable Putridity (plain stupid), Amagortis, Catuvolcus (ugghhh, terrible), Anal Vomit (very smart indeed), Blasphemophagher (they could have added even more), Eternal Tears of Sorrow (gay), Vomit Remnants (dumb), Prostitute Disfigurement (childish), Wykked Wytch (I don't get it), Destroyer 666 (faggoty), The Devil Wears Prada (how original), Make a Change... Kill yourself (sentences as a band name), Rhapsody of Fire (ridiculous), Arsonists Get All the Girls (original but dumb), Goblin Cock, Megadeth ("misspelled with style" my ass), Power Quest (very generic), From A Second Story Window (try to make it smart but it says nothing)..
will probably find more..

IMO the dumbest band name is using the same name as a whole bunch of other bands, eg: Armageddon.
But getting into the spirit of dumbness: Strapping Young Lad (gay), Devin Townsend Project (also gay).

Totally agreed. May be a stupid thing, but names that don't really reflect the band's sound also bothers me. Like Maniac Butcher, for exemple. Death Metal name in a Black Metal band.

Catuvolcus is the name of an ancient historical figure, some celtic or germanic king, the name may be ugly but I don't think it's dumb at all. Now, contributing: Anal bleeding (any band with anal in them sounds too childish in my opinion, it's like something a 8th grader would come up with) |
