Wiki: Agrimonia - Encyclopaedia Metallum: The Metal Arch...
Agrimonia’s sound could be described as the bastard child of the epic, bittersweet sounds of bands like Counterblast and Neurosis, together with the simplicity and murk of bands like Bolt Thrower and Bathory. Thundering death and black metal soaked doom, with hints of crust, as well as atmospheric and epic darkness. The guitars range from devastating heaviness to gloomy acoustic sections, with piercing leads that flash through the darkness "Rites of Separation" was recorded at Studio Fredman in Sweden by Fredrik Nordstrom in the winter of 2012/2013. --- bandcamp
Though the personnel of members of Martyrdöd, Skitsystem and At the Gates may indicate a certain aesthetic, Gothenburg’s Agrimonia are truly emblematic of the term eclectic. Across the band’s latest LP for Southern Lord, Rites of Separation, the band uses solo piano/guitar, touches of industrial and ambiance to let more intense passages of death metal, sludge/doom, black metal, post-rock and crust breathe. Its the space that helps with the impact, which makes clear that Agrimonia take influence from Neurosis and their approach at crafting epic multi-movement pieces. --- Fred Pessaro
To craft such diverse movements and make them sound seamless is quite the sleight-of-hand, but to do so while crossing genres and retaining the same abyss-perching aura, regardless of velocity and venom, is a massive accomplishment. Agrimonia’s ability to escalate and alleviate, to roar down vitriol one minute and descend into quiet dusk the next, is what makes these five, lengthy compositions so fascinating. If you are sick of post metal bands that kneel at the altar of Neurosis only to fall into pit of lethargy, Agrimonia’s ‘Rites of Separation’ is a welcome breath of fetid air. --- Dean Brown |

that's it, Seclu - you've got it right!
But if i would have written this fact in my request,
it most likely would have been soundly rejected...
