Alright, I have an idea, and I don't know if its been brought up in the past or not. Basically, I feel that the longer a song is, the longer you have to wait to request another song. Make sense?

Ok, the premise of this is called up by those whom request 40 minute songs, then get to turn around and request another song 10 minutes later (or whatever). My idea is to assign point values for songs. Every minute is worth 1 point (partial minutes are prorated). If I request a 5.15 minute song, then that is worth 5.15 points (maybe just round off to 5.2).

Now, I'm not sure if this would replace the request wait imposed on everyone at the moment, but basically, you would have to wait for, say, 5 minutes + the amount of points (in minutes) you have currently. Thus, if I requested a 5.15 minute song, I would not be able to request again for 10.15 minutes. Those whom request excessively large songs would have to wait 45 minutes (based on a 40 minute song) before requesting again.

I admit, this does seem like a penalty / reward system, but isn't that sort of what request wait times are all about?

Questions? Comments? STFU?

Interesting concept, I for one listen to Death FM at work and 40 minute songs keep me in rythm while I type, I don't like short 3-4 minute songs they are over to fast.

I should append this:

Perhaps the song points + 5 minutes should actually just be: song points + current request wait time. So, if the queue is at 30 minutes, then you have to wait an extra 30 minutes. If its only 10, then you only add 10. Cool?

I like this idea because it is more fair. The hard part is developing it. I will remember it as an option in the future.

I'm a little confused, if you dont know allready the queue cant be shorter than 1 hour.
ok, of what i understand, is a realy good idea by my side, coz i like shorter songs,
but if someone requests 1 10min song, and after 10min another long one the requester
enjoy's his songs, while i need to alot of time to wait for my 2-4 min songs.
fact : razy can request in 30mins : 9min of music ; 3min song
long song fan can request in 30mins : 30min of music ; 10min song
sound fair ? not even a little!

I like it the way it is now. As a VIP member that would really suck for me and all VIPs because our wait time is 5 min/ 10 min. If we go over to this method that gets rid of the VIP setup of being able to request more often then non-VIP members.

*edit was a mis-spelling

the VIP's will be allways superior, this idea stands for non-vip's, meaning that is like a point system where you can use them- new idea : every one will get points per hour to spend them on song, vip having more points than non-vip coz hes por. 1 point is a minute of a song

Well I guess... Would points accumulate and roll over or do you get so many a day and thats it? And could you give your points to another member so they don't go to waste?

BTW Jeric is there any way that you could purge the member list to get rid of ppl who haven't been here for 6 or more months, and ppl who were banned? I see TG's profile still exsits.

This system would either A) Only count towards NON-vip accounts, or B) would have extremely reduced point costs.

I think Razy is misisng the point of this:

If the request time is 5 mintes then...
If Razy requests a 3 minute song, he has to wait (3+X) 8 minutes before he can request again.

If Digression requests a 30 second song, he has to wait (.5+X) 5.5 minutes before he can request again.

If Death_medic requests a 10 minute song, he has to wait (10+X) 15 minutes before he can request again.

Does this make more sense?

death_medic is a vip, he payd 50$ for vip, i said that this should not count for vip's - 5 minutes is aviable for them, whille non-vip, at you and me that dont count ; 5 + song time = time to wait for another request, not for vip's.

Raz you have a big problem of either not understanding things or you just have the problem of making them more complicated.

Dig was making an example, not all he said was meant to be 100% acurate.

Exactly. I was merely using the names of people whom posted here as an example. Do you understand the concept yet?
