This is a question for Jeric and the admins... I was wondering if Im allowed to edit the "genre" classifaction of bands on this station. Ill even do the research... and plus im compulsive and it frankly bugs the fuck out of me, not to mention a good thing to do when Im at work.  |

Perhaps down the road. We don't have the resources at the time to just to genre updates. It is something I'd like to clean up eventually though.

How does the editing work anyway... say if i make a correction or an edit does it take effect immediatly, or do you admins make the change after taking notice of the correction made? |

We do it manually. We verify that the proposed change is actually correct then update the files and the database. It could take up to a week to see the change.

piggy is a death metal sub-gense, so i gues is corect.
I only put the main genre, agree? but avant-garde
is black metal sud-genre, so i put black metal ?

No I would do it like this... for Piggy you can just type in "Brutal Death and or Grindcore to Gorecore"
For the Black Metal just type Avant-Garde/Black Metal.
I for some reason find the different classifications of Metal interesting, since there are so many of them. |

Yeah whats the big deal about the genre I only see death and black all of the rest is a sub-genre and really don't matter to much to me.

The big deal is just me... just somthing to do to make ppl that arent familiar with the music to take a look at the genre and say "wow this is giindcore, what the hell is that" then as they get goin the eventually know most of the genres of music instead of make shitty requests, just my opinion tho. |

Yeah, trying to fix genres sounds like a waste of time. The bands that are unique and don't suck don't deserve to be pigeonholed in the same way shitty run-of-the-mill bands are.
If anything we should have a two-category "Sucks" and "Doesn't suck" system, but that's what the rating is for, so rate the albums or die.  |

yup, i always recomend ppl to rate albums but i seen that lots of ppl dont know how to rate. this site need a recomendation on the home-page to rate, and how to rate.
