An erotic nightmare

yes, this sounds exactly like an erotic nightmare:).. when this came out the first reaction from me was: fuck! they went soft!.. indeed, soft, but after I've tried to dig it, a whole new universe opened in front of my eyes.. it was then when I've started to pay attention to less aggressive metal.. the music itself is almost impossible to describe.. some doom some goth some prog some death reminiscences, weird ambient/cosmic parts, all blended masterfully by these freaks.. and the lyrics, fuck they are weird.. just read those of "Whatever that hurts" and you'll understand.. overall, the most avant-garde/intuitive/genius album ever created by a metal band.. Best song: Gaia!

Tiamat's New Horizon
By: Azdragar

After Clouds Album on 1992, Tiamat realized Wildhoney Album in 1994. This was the beginning of the new Tiamat's sound from Death Metal (early) to Gothic/Atmospheric Metal/Rock style with a lyrical concept about Love, Drugs and Religion.
This Album is the step to a new softer sound, and a bit bad one for the old Tiamat's followers. Anyways, for me is a great one and i really enjoy the soft songs and the clean voices because Johan Edlund is a master.
Whatever that Hurts is a very nice Opus after Wildhoney Intro, and the entire Album is a mix between some instrumental and accoustic/melodic songs. Gaia song is perfect. The Lyrics about Nature, the beautyful keyboards and the slow timimg make it definitively a masterpiece.
Awesome Album. I rate it 5/5
