Megaliths Of The Abyss

Rating:
The Howling Void is a one man symphonic funeral doom metal band that has just recently appeared on the scene, but after listening to their debut album “Megaliths Of The Abyss”, you know they’re going to be around for a very long time. This album is, quite simply, a perfect example of music performed at its greatest: so simple, and yet so beautiful.

To me, this is the perfect doom metal album, with its high quality production, perfect atmosphere and the unforgettable experience of hearing something as epic as this. This is one of those albums that is simply so amazing, you know the impact of its greatness will remain with you forever. It’s absolutely amazing that only one person created this, the man behind the band should feel great pride for this wonderful work.

To conclude, “Megaliths Of The Abyss” has to be the greatest doom metal album I’ve ever heard. I rate this album 5 out of 5 without hesitation.

Texas funeral doom?
By: cjjeepercreeper

Rating:
Yes it is, hardcore gravity increasing, mind blowing, heavier than anything on earth funeral doom from of all places San Antonio, Texas. This is a one man project of a guy known only as Ryan who has participated in a wide range of other bands from black metal, to grindcore to sludgey drone metal. The name is Lovecraftian, and I believe the mood Ryan is trying to put forth is in keeping with the writings of Lovecraft. Cosmic, eerie, impending doom, these are all feelings you get from the four long songs on The Howling Void's debut.
