It's been a while since I posted anything so here goes.
It's late but I thought I would bring this up:
Earlier this month a friend and I were chatting about music mainly about the genres and such. We got onto the topic of grindcore and it's multiple sub genres. One genre led to another until Goregrind and Pornogrind were mentioned (I dont like grindcore much and it is the same for its "Sub-genres" so porno/goregrind does not interest me in the slightest). The final result was Slam death metal. Now Slam I know a bit about (But not much mind you) and I discovered it's one of those really disliked genres which is understandable with people calling it "Wigger-slam" and stuff.
Anyway long story short what is your opinion on Slam Death metal?
My short opinion: does not interest me. |

Imo, slam, porno, etc., are not genres, neither subgenres of metal. They are just the shameful degradation of two sub-genres like Grindcore and Brutal Death, but the guys involved in this crap (not music), show on every "production" their absence and lack of talent for playing any instrument, composing lyrics and structuring a song.

well even thou, most of the new genres, sub genres, sub sub genres and so on... are not always my liking, among them there are good skillful musicians, producers and etc.
As in everything, in the end the consumers will decide what is hot and what is not...

IMO genres and subgenres were the worst thing ever to happen to metal. If, like me, you're nostalgic about a time when metal was just metal, check out awesome Canadian band Christian Mistress. It's like the 80s never happened!

I personally am not a fan of gore/porno or slam, I just do not like it for a number of reasons (which I wont post here). I do have to admit some of these bands who call themselves "Slam" or fused with other genres within grindcore like "Gore-slam" are actually listenable.
