So against my better judgement I finally opened a Google account. Turns out they automatically give you something called a gmail account (linked to your original email account) which will then be subjected to countless phishing scams.
Now it's true that they send you an email which does give you the opportunity to unlink the accounts, (which of course is what I've done) but I'm still pissed that it happened in the first place without my approval. Isn't this just typical of Google's high-handed megalomania?
So once again Google, fuck you and good night. 
btw, if you're wondering why I'm posting this here, it's therapy. Therapy, and a terrible warning for y'all.

I think you get an an google account along with your youtube acc. Even if you had an acc on youtube for a long time you get one. Still, I don't see a reason to open a thread for this becuase by now everyone knows it anyways

I've been using gmail since it was invitation only, much better than yahoo, or any of the others. My alternate is with Opera.

As usual I'm the last to know...and it still creams my corn. Especially as I had a Youtube account years ago before Google took over and fucked everything up.

What CJ said, the spam filters are awesome. And the Plus part allows you to mute/block whomever you want and to tweak the amount of information from each category you want to see on your "wall".

I just hate the new commenting system on Youtube that you need a google account in order to comment, rate, and stuff, they created a new page for me on google plus, and my activity from my normal Youtube account was stored in another page, so my new comments don't appear in my old account, only my likes, and I have to switch accounts all the time in order to follow what my subscribers are saying, now everything show up in the google plus account that I don't use for anything besides Youtube, it's useless to me >.< |
