Well, my Metal taste is a little odd, I have to admit. I can listen to almost everything (except what I've listed in the "worst bands" topic  ). I think it depends what I am doing. I use to work everyday with headphones, logged @DFM; this part of my day matches Death and Brutal Death.
But at night, my preferences just split among Black and Doom. And what I think about Doom Metal? Well, CJ already spoke for me: makes the time slow down, increase the gravity. I can say for sure that there's nothing better than listen to Swallow the Sun with a glass of a fine scotch  I just love long songs, the longer the better. And some bands play them with majesty.
I can list my favorites: Swallow the Sun, Novembers Doom, My Dying Bride, Draconian, Doom:VS, Ataraxie, Evoken, The Fall of Every Season (my latest discover) and a few others. Anyway, Doom fits greatly here @DFM and I support it! |

More Doom here would be great in my opinion. Black Metal is my fav, but doom is climbing the list for me. I'm in full support of more doom @ DFM.

Don't like this suggestion, spread my opinion about doom in many other
threads, shortly i prefer fast stuff, slooow + looooong = boooooooring to me. |

An odd combo, but my 2 favorites are doom and black. Kind of balance one another out.

I couldn't stand it anymore, I had to know. Who would win if they fought, Death metal or Doom metal. So, the Google Fight was on. Needless to say, Death metal music won, 11,900,000 to 2,650,000. Further proof that as Doomsters we are not and are in no danger of becoming trendy.
As further proof of our cool lack of trendiness Doom metal then fought Black metal. Black metal really kicked Doom metal's ass, 24,800,000. And the other side of these historic battles is the fact that Black metal soundly kicked Death metal's ass.

doom is the least selling of all metal styles, so no danger of becoming a trend..
as for BM, it's selLing better than DM I think, because of the image associated with their music.. it's somehow more "artistic"

yeah, the corpse paint belongs to that artistic feature, doesnt it? would be quite funny to see some death metal bands with some new makeup. lmao
