now lets see how many days the que gets locked out, if they do abuse it an someone will.
another option would be to place a cap on every ones account so they cant individually req numerous 9+ songs daily so to keep the que length down.
something to ponder on!! _________________ There shall soon come an accounting in which all will fall before the Grim Reaper as wheat in winter, as lambs under the knife. Soon all necks will feel the steely bite of my soul- thirsting axe, wielded by the unforgiving iron hoof of Chitler!! |

i think that kind of thing is unfair, although i am not the most notorious doomster in her i still think it is not right to limit peoples choices. as i said before we all should like the diversity in here... one option really is to disable all "under 4 minutes" songs which is as i am writing this over half of the queue length closer to 3 quarters... _________________ i am so ebil that i piss darkness |

If songs under 4 minutes were disabled CJ would probably spend 2 days laughing in an evil-genius laugh. _________________ ヽヽ༼༼ຈຈل͜ل͜ຈຈ༽༽ノノ TURN DOWN THAT MUSIC IT'S SHAKING MY HOUSE |

This ^^ could be an idea, or cap the queue so that there can only be so much 9+ songs in it or make some extra steps in the request wait.
Like: Q length req wait (rip)
< 1:30 2 h (2 min)
< 1:45 4 h (15 min)
< 2:00 6 h (30 min)
< 2:15 9 h ( 45 min)
< 2:30 12 h (1 h)
< 2:45 12 h (1:15 h)
< 3:00 12 h (1:30 h)
so every one is treated the same |

Jeric needs to mirror 'Death FM' with some of the same albums. Spreed the people out. Have 2 queues |

Adjusted request waits might be the most diplomatic and potentially successful option yet suggested. I am certain it would not be very popular, especially with regular RIP listeners who use their ablility to request often.
I don't know about all time slots, but the 8-5 (chat time) tends to have a fair number of RIPs who are regularly use their request priveledge. The q is also 2.5+ hours during most of that time slot.
Rudo's suggestions seem fair though. |

but adding additional reg times all u do is allow ppl more often to req resulting in a even longer que! making the req wait longer would shorten the que.
capping individuals number of long songs requested daily will also limit number of long songs an individual can make in a day! _________________ There shall soon come an accounting in which all will fall before the Grim Reaper as wheat in winter, as lambs under the knife. So it does if you cap the queue on how many long songs can be in there, this eleminates the posibilety that other rip mempers give their long request to others and make the queue extra long.
My guess is that in this case the queue would go faster and a fair number of long songs can be requested.
And i made the extra slots for a short queue short and for a longer queue longer, so the queue stays more stable, and the times i mentioned are only an example.
My guess is that 15 min extra waiting time would make a lot of diverence if there are a lot of rip members requesting.
And doing both would be even better.
For example if 14 rip members would request a song with an average of 6 min that would be 1:24 afer their one hour wait there still be 24 min left, ad this to the next 1:24 as before you would make the request length 24 min longer every hour.
If we make that request wait 15 min longer you would make the queue 9 min longer every hour, this will save about 1:08 hours if you would do this 5 times
Anyway something has to be done, and we don't know if this is the right way, but we won't know unless we try it.
My sugestion try it for a month and see what happens |

Here's the simply solution to your problems :

This is being required in order to minimize the data of the overlong queue.

True but not cigar. Doom is part of our souls. We must allow under-10-min songs to be played incessantly. Over-10 min song should be alowed to be played at random based on the caste system. Iow, by seniority. \,,/
