messages boards are great for new music, usually i'll just specify a genre or style and people will recommend tons of bands its wonderful. since i discovered this radio station id have to say internet radio is up there too.

compilation cds and label samplers really are a great way to discover new music; when i was younger, and new to metal, these sorts of collections really helped to introduce me to new sounds and new bands, without which i would not be listening to the music i do today.

going to small underground shops and buying any CD that catches my attention. Second hand shops are the best, because you can discover damn good things for very cheap!! Internet radio comes second
